To minimize the accelerator activation, the commissioning will be performed mainly with H<sup>2+</sup> pulsed beams with progressively increasing duty factor and current up to the nominal 125 mA current. Therefore the beam dump must be able to stop deuteron and H<sup>2+</sup> continuous and pulsed beams with energies 5 MeV (RFQ commissioning) and 9 MeV. The maximum beam power is 1.12 MW corresponding to a beam current of 125 mA.
