Reversed Field Pinch
The Reversed Field Pinch is a toroidally symmetric magnetic confinement configuration (similar to the tokamak), characterized by the fact that the poloidal magnetic field (generated by currents in the plasma) is of similar magnitude as the toroidal field (generated by external coils); while the toroidal magnetic field changes sign in the exterior regions of the plasma.
