RMP (Resonant Magnetic Perturbations) Resonant Magnetic Perturbations are externally-induced small perturbations of the equilibrium magnetic field, that are resonant with it, i.e. they have the same helicity as the equilibrium magnetic field, on a given magnetic flux surface.
