The TJ-II stellarator is equipped with a unique diagnostic system - Dual HIBP, consisting of two HIBPs separated toroidally <ref>A. MELNIKOV, A.V. et al., Heavy ion beam probing - Diagnostics to study potential and turbulence in toroidal plasmas, Nuclear Fusion 57 (2017) 072004.</ref>. On top of the conventional measurements of the mean value of the plasma electrostatic potential φ, the dual HIBP in TJ-II is capable to measure oscillations of the potential, electron density, magnetic potential and Long Range Correlations as a proxy of Zonal Flows. The HIBP technique turned out to be applicable for measuring several other important plasma quantities too the radial ExB turbulent particle flux.
The goal of this proposal is to investigate the limits of HIBP ExB turbulent transport measurements in the TJ-II stellarator. The experimental strategy will include comparative studies of HIBP and Langmuir probe diagnostics with to goals:
a) Investigation of the poloidal phase velocity of fluctuations using plasma density and plasma potential measurements: HIBP vs probe measurements.
b) Investigation of ExB turbulent transport: HIBP vs probe measurements
