&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;B Liu &amp;#039;&amp;#039;et al.&amp;#039;&amp;#039; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Direct experimental evidence of potential asymmetry in magnetic flux surfaces in stellarators&amp;#039;&amp;#039; to be submitted (2017) &amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;. &lt;br /&gt;
Experiments and simulations have shown similar scaling with the electron temperature &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;T_{e}&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; and comparable phase difference between the measured and calculated values of the potential at two distant positions of the same flux surface. Heuristically, these variations can be shown to scale independently on &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;B&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; since the magnetic and &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;E_r\times B&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; &lt;br /&gt;
drifts scale both with &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;B^{-1}&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;, see e.g. &lt;br /&gt;

&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Objective&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;: the present experiment, which aims at assessing the scaling of &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\Phi_1&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; with &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;B&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; and compare with theory, follows in essence the approach and techniques reported in ref. The signals and systems required to carry out the analysis are:&lt;br /&gt;

* The time evolution of the plasma floating potential at the outer core region (&amp;lt;math&amp;gt;r/a\sim 0.9&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;), measured with the double probe system.&lt;br /&gt;
* The application of biasing potential at the outer core region is necessitated to measure the floating potential difference.&lt;br /&gt;
* The time evolution of the line-averaged density &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\left&amp;lt;n_e(t)\right&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; with interferometry.&lt;br /&gt;
* The radial profiles of electron density &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;n_{e}(r, t_0)&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; and temperature at one time instant &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;t_0&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; using Thomson Scattering (TS).&lt;br /&gt;
* The time evolution of the electron temperature profile &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;T_{e}(r,t)&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; with Electron	Cyclotron Emission (ECE), when available, calibrated with TS. &lt;br /&gt;
* The time evolution of the ion temperature in the core and in an outer radial position &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;T_i(r/a\sim 0.2,t)&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; and &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;T_i(r/a\sim 0.8,t)&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; with the Neutral Particle Analyzer (NPA).	&lt;br /&gt;
* The time evolution of the radial electric field at the mid-outer region (&amp;lt;math&amp;gt;r/a\sim 0.5-0.8&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;) with reflectometry, if possible.&lt;br /&gt;
* The time evolution of the electrostatic potential in the mid-outer region &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\Phi(r/a\sim0.7,t)&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; with the double Heavy Ion Beam Probe (HIBP).&lt;br /&gt;
